You can assist clients with commercial transactions, only if you have the knowledge, background, experience and have previously closed on commercial transactions. 

Commercial real estate entails many different areas such as multifamily, industrial, manufacturing, leasing, office, retail and more. It also involves much longer times for closings and a whole different set of liabilities and things to be aware of. 

 

Marketing and access to properties is critical, so it is vital for a commercial agent to have a subscription to Loopnet and CoStar, the premier commercial databases. These typically will run $400 to $500 Monthly and may require an annual subscription. Just like you can’t effectively help a residential client without the MLS, it is the same analogy in commercial real estate and Loopnet/CoStar.
